Many companies will scare you with the demands of the HSE and Electricity at Work regulations however any electrical network has to comply with the electricity at work regulations which state that all electrical networks have to be managed designed constructed and maintained in an effective safe manner. They also state that any person working on the equipment must have sufficient experience and knowledge to carry out his duties. This is often interpreted as a need to have Authorised Persons on site. While we fully agree with the principles of having AP’s we also recognise that your electricians on site can quickly be trained to provide limited operational duties such as opening and closing Circuit breakers to switch supplies and as such they can become AP’s. We can provide this training and also provide them with sufficient supporting knowledge of the network via telephone support or on site support to allow them to carry out practically any operation. Compliance with statutory responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and Electricity at Work Regulations We can also provide an on site presence of a HV AP to cover for periods when your AP is not available so reducing the need for additional full time employees We can also provide a consultancy service to advise and assist you with the strategic development or proposed alteration to your high voltage network. By providing you with pragmatic solutions to your power supply problems we are sure we can cut the costs quoted by other companies who often put in as much plant and technology as they can squeeze in which only adds to the likelihood of plant failure and loss of supplies rather than enhancing the reliability and operational effectiveness. |
